Principal's Message

Principal’s Message 26-27

A man with a beard and dark hair wearing a blazer speaks while gesturing during a presentation. Our Mission Statement says, “We empower our diverse community of learners by delivering high-quality, engaging instruction that fosters creativity and resilience. By building supportive relationships and clear expectations, we inspire every student to become an adaptable, lifelong learner.” It is this aspiration to be better every day that drives us to reach new heights with our students. We are pulling together to make Brookland a community of powerful learning experiences, no matter where we start academically. Brookland's exceptional teachers and support staff are devoted to guiding our Cubs through this invigorating learning experience.

My own journey as a Brookland Cub began back in 1989 as a student, and I am absolutely thrilled to be entering my 12th year as your principal. While much has evolved over the decades, the deep roots of our community remain unchanged. One of the things I love most about BMS is how our rich history connects generations of Cubs with families who are brand new to our school. This beautiful blend of tradition and future-focused growth makes Brookland an extraordinary place to learn.

We will achieve our goals by establishing meaningful relationships and providing opportunities for everyone to go above and beyond the call of duty. This ambition to strive for greatness will be the hallmark of our growth at Brookland. Our theme for this school year is “I am Brookland!” This phrase describes the fact that our community of Cubs will step up to the high standards of what it means to be a Brookland Cub and we all will take great pride in that achievement. Together, we will push expectations while uniting under our common ROAR values of Respect, Accountability, Organization, and Responsibility. Not only are we asking that everyone work together for our common vision but we are asking that everyone push ourselves to be their best every day. If we do this, there is no limit to what we can accomplish in our efforts to cultivate lifelong learners and global citizens.

If you want to join the team as we ROAR, please connect to our social media links, Brookland Middle School Website, ParentSquare, Schoology, and our Parent Portal in PowerSchool to work together to make Brookland a place of powerful learning.

Go Cubs!
